The Hong Kong Tourism Board is gearing up for the mainland’s five-day May 1 golden week holiday with a series of exciting promotional campaigns. One of the highlights is a 10-minute pyrotechnic show over Victoria Harbour on Labor Day, set to dazzle tourists and locals alike.

Scheduled to begin at 8pm on Wednesday at Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade Gardens, the pyrotechnics will be launched from a barge 130 meters offshore. The show will feature golden sparks, giant “HK” characters, smiley faces, and the Symphony of Lights show, creating a stunning visual spectacle in the night sky.

In addition to the pyrotechnic display, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has launched a dedicated website to provide visitors and the public with one-stop information on special holiday offers, transportation arrangements, and opening hours of attractions. The board is also collaborating with local consumer promotions, such as the Yau Tsim Mong Shopping Festival, to offer multiple surprises to visitors and citizens.

To further enhance the festive atmosphere, Sino Group malls and K11 MUSEA are offering special promotions and free drinks to diners during the golden week holiday. Customers can also participate in lucky draws and redeem e-gift vouchers totaling over HK$2,800 at participating merchants.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board is also stepping up promotions in mainland China, inviting mainland media to experience Hong Kong and collaborating with online travel agencies to promote travel packages. A drone show highlighting traditional festivals will debut on May 11, with the aim of encouraging visitors to extend their stay in the city.

Overall, the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s efforts aim to create a vibrant and engaging experience for visitors during the golden week holiday, showcasing the city’s unique attractions and offerings.
