Travel companies donate funds to enhance Vietnamese tourism

Vietnam is gearing up to showcase its tourism potential on the global stage with a major exhibition planned in Hollywood. The event, titled “Expo in Hollywood,” is set to take place in September in Los Angeles and will feature a whole day dedicated to Vietnam.

The exhibition is expected to draw the participation of 200 filmmakers, including industry giants like Amazon, Netflix, and Disney. With an estimated total expense of VND10 billion, the event will be funded entirely by contributions from enterprises. The exhibition will feature 15-20 Vietnamese stalls from large firms, as well as stalls showcasing Vietnamese cuisine.

Nguyen Chau A, CEO of Oxalis Adventure, highlighted the significance of the event in promoting Vietnam’s film industry and tourism destinations. He emphasized the need for successful organization to boost awareness and attract more visitors to Vietnam.

Local tourism agencies in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have expressed their support for the exhibition, underscoring the importance of coordinated efforts in promoting Vietnam as a tourist destination. The event is expected to be presided over by state agencies, including the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT), as well as major travel and logistics firms.

The initiative aligns with Vietnam’s broader tourism promotion plan for 2024, which aims to attract 17-18 million foreign travelers this year. Despite encouraging growth in the tourism sector, there is a recognition of the need for continued efforts to elevate Vietnam’s tourism brand and reach pre-Covid levels of success.

With a focus on raising awareness and leveraging partnerships with localities and businesses, Vietnam is poised to make a lasting impression on the global tourism stage. As the country seeks to position itself as a top tourist destination, the Expo in Hollywood represents a significant opportunity to showcase Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty to a global audience.
