Travis and Jason Kelce, the dynamic duo of football fame, were in for a surprise during their live “New Heights” show at the University of Cincinnati. The UC alums were unexpectedly treated to a graduation ceremony at Fifth Third Arena, as they had missed out on the opportunity to properly receive their diplomas in the past.
The Director of Athletics, John Cunningham, along with university president Neville Pinto, presented the brothers with cap and gowns, and even had Travis’ old helmet in hand. Travis, who had lost his helmet back in the day and was unable to walk at his college graduation ceremony in 2012, was finally getting his moment.
Of course, no Kelce celebration would be complete without a few chugged beers. After receiving his keepsake from Dr. Pinto, Travis downed a beer and spiked it onto the stage, much to the delight of the crowd.
The brothers’ parents, Donna and Ed Kelce, were also present on stage during the personal ceremony. Donna showed her support by wearing a Chiefs-Eagles jersey and had balloons representing each of the teams, along with a heart-shaped balloon that read “world’s best mom.”
The live “New Heights” show also featured the first-ever Lombaby Games, where student-athletes and student academics competed against each other. The night was filled with star guest appearances, including Bengals players Joe Burrow and Orlando Brown Jr., as well as Bearcats legend Desmond Ridder.
The Kelce brothers, who launched “New Heights” in September 2022, have quickly risen to fame with their popular sports and pop culture podcast. The show provides insight into different players in the league while discussing trending news and headlines in the sports world.
