Triton Softball Team Dominates with Clean Sweep

The Iowa Central softball team bounced back in a big way with a dominant sweep of Hawkeye at Rogers Park. The Tritons secured victories of 14-0 and 8-0 in five innings each, showcasing a strong performance on both offense and defense.

In the first game, pitcher Emma Hoyle had a no-hitter through four-plus innings before Katelyn Dennis came in to finish the job. In the second game, Jadeyn Stahr only allowed one hit while striking out four batters with no walks.

After suffering shutout losses to ninth-ranked Des Moines Area, Iowa Central (21-11 overall, 4-2 in the ICCAC) showed resilience and determination in their doubleheader against Hawkeye. Head coach Bo Tjebben commended his team for their all-around effort, highlighting the great pitching, solid defense, and timely hitting that led to their success.

Kennedy Palmer was a standout performer for the Tritons, hitting a home run and driving in five runs in the first game. Other players like Aleena Sandy, Gabriella Taber, and Alexis Hansen also contributed with multiple hits and RBIs throughout the day.

Looking ahead, Iowa Central will face off against Iowa Lakes and Ellsworth in doubleheaders over the weekend. With their recent strong performance, the Tritons are poised to continue their winning streak and make a statement in the conference.
