DGH (Dutch Gold Honey) Logistics OTR driver Francis Junto is not your typical trucker. He’s not just hauling freight across the country, he’s also in the running to be named Mr. Health and Fitness. Junto, a 30-plus-year veteran trucker, has been on a journey to better health and fitness, and now he’s among the top 20 competitors in the online competition.

Junto’s transformation began over a decade ago when he was told by his doctor that he was a “heart attack waiting to happen.” Determined to change his lifestyle, Junto started walking regularly, eventually progressing to running 5k races, 10ks, and even half marathons. His dedication to fitness has not only improved his health but also inspired others in the trucking industry to prioritize their well-being.

Despite the challenges of life on the road, Junto makes time for exercise, hitting the gym or going for a run at least twice a week. He even packs his running gear in his truck and takes advantage of delays on deliveries to squeeze in a workout. Junto’s commitment to health extends to his diet as well, as he prepares his own meals to avoid the unhealthy options often found at truck stops.

Now 57 years old, Junto is still running the roads, both literally and figuratively. His dedication to fitness has not only improved his own life but has also set an example for others in the trucking industry. As he competes for the title of Mr. Health and Fitness, Junto hopes to inspire others to prioritize their health and well-being, proving that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
