Trumbull County All-Stars Secure Victory in Jack Arvin Football Classic

MINERAL RIDGE — In a thrilling rematch, the Trumbull County All-Stars emerged victorious with a 10-7 win over the Mahoning County All-Stars in the 38th annual Jack Arvin Football Classic at Joe Lane Stadium in Mineral Ridge.

After a tough loss to Mahoning County last year, Trumbull County came back with a vengeance, showcasing a stellar defensive performance that ultimately sealed the win. Head coach Brian Shaner praised his team’s hard work and dedication, emphasizing the defensive battle that unfolded on the field.

The standout player of the game was Warren G. Harding’s Nau’jeat Jones, who was named Player of the Game for his exceptional performance. Jones made a significant impact with a 38-yard touchdown catch and several crucial receptions that helped Trumbull County secure the victory.

Throughout the game, Trumbull County, comprised mostly of smaller schools, displayed a resilient attitude as they faced off against the larger schools of Mahoning County. The players’ determination and camaraderie were evident as they celebrated their hard-earned win on the field.

Both teams faced challenges with turnovers and struggled to gain momentum in the first half. However, Trumbull County managed to take the lead with a field goal in the second quarter, setting the stage for a competitive second half.

As the game came down to the wire, both teams fought hard for every yard, with critical fourth-down stops and clutch plays keeping the outcome uncertain until the final moments. In the end, Trumbull County’s tenacity and teamwork proved to be the deciding factors in their well-deserved victory.

The Jack Arvin Football Classic once again showcased the talent and determination of high school football players from Trumbull and Mahoning counties, highlighting the spirit of competition and sportsmanship that defines this annual event.
