Trump delves deeper into selecting potential 2024 VP candidate

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former President Donald Trump is not letting legal challenges dampen his confidence as he gears up for a potential White House comeback later this year. Despite facing a hush money trial conviction and various legal hurdles, Trump’s campaign is already in full swing, with reports emerging that potential vice presidential contenders are being vetted.

According to the New York Post, Senators Marco Rubio, J.D. Vance, and Tim Scott are among the names being considered for the VP slot. Additionally, Representatives Byron Donalds, Elise Stefanik, Governor Doug Burgum, and former HUD Secretary Ben Carson are also in the mix.

The vetting process has been ongoing for the past month, indicating that Trump is serious about his re-election bid. While the final decision rests with Trump himself, campaign spokesman Brian Hughes emphasized that any claims about the VP pick are mere speculation until the former president makes an official announcement.

In a recent interview, Trump hinted that his decision on a running mate would likely come just before the Republican National Convention in July, where he is expected to be formally nominated as the GOP candidate. With a wide pool of potential candidates, Trump expressed confidence in finding someone who would do a “fantastic job” as his VP.

As the presumptive nominee, Trump’s choice for vice president will be closely watched as he aims to secure a second term in the White House. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
