Trump has no issue with including R.F.K. Jr. in debates, he says

Former President Donald J. Trump has stirred up controversy by suggesting that independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. should be included in upcoming debates with President Biden, despite Biden’s team making it clear that this is not an option.

In an interview with Scripps News, Trump stated that he would be open to having Kennedy participate in the debates as long as he met the criteria set by CNN and ABC News, the networks hosting the events. However, Biden’s campaign has insisted that the debates should only involve Biden and Trump.

Trump took to social media to taunt Biden, claiming that Kennedy was “sharper and far more intelligent” than Biden and that they would be debating important issues such as Open Borders and the Green New Deal.

Kennedy, in response, vowed to qualify for the upcoming debate on CNN and expressed frustration over the possibility of being excluded. He accused both Biden and Trump of being afraid that he would win.

CNN and ABC News have set criteria for participation in the debates, including having at least 15 percent support in approved national polls and qualifying for the ballot in enough states to potentially win the presidency. Kennedy currently meets the polling threshold in only two national polls and is on the ballot in just six states.

Despite facing challenges in securing ballot access in all 50 states, Kennedy remains determined to participate in the debates and make his voice heard on the national stage.
