Tuckwell finalizes purchase of Tomlinson Groundcare in Golf Business News

P Tuckwell Ltd, the John Deere dealer across the South East and East of England, has recently completed the acquisition of Tomlinson Groundcare Ltd, marking a significant milestone for both companies.

The acquisition, which was agreed upon by James Tuckwell and the Tomlinson family, ensures that all employees and the existing branch location at Buxhall, near Stowmarket, will be retained. This move has received full support and approval from John Deere Ltd.

Tomlinson Groundcare, founded by Robert Tomlinson in 1991, has been a key player in the turf care business in Suffolk. Despite the passing of Robert in 2019, the team led by Adrian Brown has continued to grow and develop the business, maintaining Robert’s ethos and passion for building strong relationships with customers.

Tuckwells, a well-established John Deere dealer since 1965, operates from ten locations across the region and employs over 300 people. With the addition of Tomlinson Groundcare, Tuckwells aims to expand its business and build upon the success of the acquired company.

James Tuckwell expressed his excitement about the acquisition, stating, “We welcome the Tomlinson Groundcare team to the Tuckwells family and look forward to working together with them and their customers.” Chris Meacock from John Deere also commended Adrian and his team for their outstanding support and growth of the John Deere turf care brand in Suffolk.

Adrian Brown shared his confidence in the deal, stating, “I am confident that the business is in safe hands and is well placed to continue its development and growth.” The integration of Tomlinson Groundcare into the Tuckwell family marks a new and exciting chapter for both companies.
