Two K-State Tennis Players Named to Big 12 All-Freshman Team

The Kansas State tennis team is celebrating the success of two of its freshmen players, Maralgoo Chogsomjav and Charlotte Keitel, who were recently named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team. Head coach Jordan Smith expressed his pride in the accomplishments of the two players, highlighting their strong performances on the singles court throughout the season.

Chogsomjav, who joined the Wildcats in January, had an impressive 10-3 singles record, including a five-match win streak and victories over ranked opponents. She secured a crucial point for the team in a match against Kansas and also notched a three-set conference win against Cincinnati.

Keitel also had a standout season, finishing with a 26-9 singles record and a team-high seven Big 12 wins. She excelled in three-set matches, with a 7-1 record, including two key victories over BYU and Texas Tech in conference play.

In addition to Chogsomjav and Keitel, other players named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team include Kyoka Kubo from Kansas, Chloe Noel from Oklahoma, Raquel Caballero from TCU, and Olivia Lincer from UCF. The Wildcats have a strong tradition of producing talented freshmen players, with six players earning All-Freshman honors since 2016.

The future looks bright for the Kansas State tennis team, with Chogsomjav and Keitel leading the way as promising young talents on the court. Fans can look forward to seeing these two freshmen continue to make an impact in the Big 12 conference in the seasons to come.
