Two Palm Beach County high schools have made it to the top 100 in the country, according to the latest rankings by U.S. News & World Report. Alexander W. Dreyfoos Junior School of the Arts claimed the 91st spot, while Suncoast Community High School secured the 98th position.

Students at Suncoast High School are thrilled with the recognition, with junior Gayatri Sathyanarayan expressing her pride in the school’s achievement. Sathyanarayan, who is currently enrolled in seven Advanced Placement (AP) courses, aspires to become a neurosurgeon and is eyeing top universities like Columbia and NYU.

The rankings are based on various factors, including college readiness, state assessment proficiency, and graduation rates. Suncoast High School scored an impressive 99.45%, with a high percentage of students passing AP exams and demonstrating proficiency in math, reading, and science.

The Suncoast High School Foundation highlighted the school’s unique environment and the support it provides to students in pursuing their dreams. The foundation offers resources like SAT prep and college application assistance to ensure students are well-prepared for their academic journey.

With the rankings also highlighting the schools’ performance at the state level, both Suncoast and Dreyfoos have solidified their positions as top educational institutions in Florida. Dreyfoos principal Blake Bennett commended the hard work of students and staff, attributing the success to rigorous academic and art instruction, effective systems, and a culture of excellence.
