Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Brainerd College softball team continues to make waves in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference, with two of its players earning honors for their outstanding performances. Kaitlyn Geschwill, a freshman from Pequot Lakes, was named the North Division Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season. Her highlight was pitching a perfect game against St. Cloud Technical, contributing to her 2-0 record for the week with 13 innings pitched. Geschwill only allowed one earned run on four hits and one walk while striking out 20 batters.

Joining Geschwill in the spotlight is her teammate McKenna Miller, a freshman from North Branch, who was named the North Division Position Player of the Week. Miller showcased her skills by finishing 5-of-9 with a .555 batting average, including a double and a triple. She also drove in two runs, scored twice, walked twice, and stole a base. In addition to her offensive prowess, Miller also pitched a victory by throwing four innings in a win over Minnesota West.

The duo’s impressive performances have helped the CLC Raiders improve to a 7-11 overall record. Fans can catch them in action on Saturday, April 6, when they host Northland. The team’s success is a testament to the hard work and talent of Geschwill and Miller, who continue to shine on the softball field.
