U.S. News and World Report Ranks Graduate Programs Among the Best in the Country

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has once again proven its excellence in graduate education, as it has been recognized among the nation’s best graduate schools by U.S. News & World Report in its 2024-2025 Best Graduate Schools report. The report, released on April 9, highlighted the university’s high rankings in various specialty programs.

Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor John Zomchick emphasized the transformative experience of graduate education, stating that it fuels innovation, critical thinking, and expands the frontiers of knowledge. He praised the outstanding work being done by graduate students and their mentoring faculty, which led to this recognition.

Among the notable rankings, UT’s Haslam College of Business’s supply chain graduate programs stood out for the tenth consecutive year, ranking 4th nationally and 3rd among public universities. Additionally, programs in social work, nursing, and law also received high rankings, with placements among public institutions.

College leaders, including Stephen L. Mangum from the Haslam College of Business, Lonnie T. Brown, Jr. from the College of Law, Victoria P. Niederhauser from the College of Nursing, and Lori Messinger from the College of Social Work, shared their insights on the rankings and the dedication of faculty, staff, and students to excellence in their respective fields.
