‘U.S. News’ ranks UC Berkeley graduate programs among top in the nation

UC Berkeley graduate programs continue to shine as they once again top several categories in the 2024 rankings by U.S. News and World Report. Released on Monday, April 8, the rankings showcase the excellence of Berkeley’s graduate programs, with a total of 30 programs ranking in the Top 10 in the country.

Among the standout programs at Berkeley are computer science, which claimed the top spot, as well as public affairs, social work, business, and public health, all ranking in the Top 10. Specializations within these areas also excelled, with the Part-time MBA program ranking at No. 2, and several other MBA programs ranking in the Top 10 in their respective categories.

The rankings are based on statistical surveys of 2,225 programs and reputation surveys sent to academics and professionals. The data was collected in fall 2023 and early 2024, with a focus on academic quality and qualitative ratings submitted by top officials at the schools.
