U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm Delivers Powerful Speech on Climate and Energy Innovation in North Texas

U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm made a significant impact during her visit to North Texas, where she addressed America’s climate and power challenges at the ARPA-E Innovation Summit. The event, held at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, brought together scientists, engineers, and investors from around the country and globe to collaborate on innovative solutions for the nation’s energy issues.

Granholm likened the current energy and climate crisis to the moon race of 50 years ago, emphasizing the urgent need to save the planet. She commended the attendees for their role in shaping America’s energy future, highlighting the importance of their technological advancements in winning the race against climate change.

With Texas facing its own energy challenges, Granholm engaged in a fireside chat with energy leaders to discuss the impact of Department of Energy-supported technologies on American innovation. She urged scientists to continue developing solutions to reduce pollution and emissions, aligning with the Biden administration’s climate and renewable energy goals.

Despite facing criticism from Republicans in Congress over the administration’s climate agenda, Granholm remains committed to advancing clean energy projects in Washington, D.C. She closed her visit with a speech on U.S. industrial policy and achievements to the North Texas Commission, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and innovation in addressing the nation’s energy challenges.
