UAE Ambassador Condemns Pro-Caliphate Demonstration as “Unacceptable” – The European Conservative

The United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Germany, Ahmed Alattar, has strongly condemned the recent Islamist demonstration in Hamburg, where over a thousand radically anti-German Muslims gathered to demand the introduction of Sharia law and the establishment of an Islamic state. The demonstration, organized by the extremist group ‘Muslim Interaktiv,’ featured slogans labeling Germany as a “dictatorship of values” and calls for a caliphate.

Expressing his dismay on social media, Ambassador Alattar described the behavior of the demonstrators as “unbelievable, unacceptable, and incomprehensible.” He emphasized that it is concerning to see individuals who have found a home in Germany turning against the country, but noted that such actions are typical of political Islamists.

The Emirati Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has also raised concerns about the rise of Islamism in Europe, attributing it to the indecisiveness and political correctness of European leaders. He warned that Europe may see an increase in radicalism and extremism due to a lack of understanding of Islam and the Middle East.

In contrast to Ambassador Alattar’s strong condemnation, Germany’s left-activist interior minister, who described the demonstration as “difficult to bear,” failed to address its anti-democratic and extremist nature. This tepid response has sparked outrage among Germany’s right-of-center opposition, with calls for the minister’s resignation from the Values Union, Alternative for Germany, and the CDU.

Values Union chairman Hans-Georg Maaßen criticized the interior minister for neglecting to protect Germany from the enemies of the constitution, labeling her as a danger to the free democratic basic order. The AfD also condemned the minister for focusing on the fight against the right while Islamist groups openly promote their propaganda and call for a German caliphate.

CDU General Secretary Carsten Linneman echoed these sentiments, accusing the interior minister of failing to recognize the threat posed by radical Islamic movements to German society. He described it as scandalous that the demonstration was allowed to take place despite assurances that such actions would not be tolerated.

The warnings issued by the UAE’s ambassador and foreign minister highlight the grave dangers posed by political Islam to the West. They emphasize the need for decisive action against radicalism and extremism to safeguard democratic values and societal harmony. As Europe grapples with the challenges of integration and multiculturalism, the voices of concern from high-ranking diplomats serve as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and proactive measures to counter extremist ideologies.
