Reading Time: 2 minutes

The UAE government recently hosted a specialised programme aimed at enhancing the capabilities of government cadres from the Republic of Uzbekistan. The programme focused on various areas, including government human resources and best practices related to human capital investment. This initiative took place during an official visit by an Uzbek delegation to the UAE, highlighting the strategic partnership between the two countries in government modernisation.

The delegation from Uzbekistan consisted of officials and employees from various entities, including the Office of the President, the Agency for the Development of Public Service, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, and the Ministry of Sports. Their visit aimed to gain insights into the UAE government’s experiences and expertise in developing and modernising its human resources system to align with future challenges and requirements.

Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Experience Exchange, highlighted the UAE government’s advanced system for investing in human capital and motivating talent. He emphasized that the UAE’s approach reflects the vision of the wise leadership, recognizing that investing in national human resources is crucial for the future. Lootah praised the cooperation and partnership between the UAE and Uzbekistan, stating that the UAE government’s management methodologies serve as pivotal areas for strategic partnerships in government modernisation.

Lootah also mentioned that the UAE government is eager to share its success story in human resources management with other nations, aiming to enhance the attractiveness and dynamism of the government work environment. This effort focuses on talent development, capacity building, and empowerment to meet the evolving demands of the labour market.

Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, welcomed the Uzbek delegation and highlighted the UAE’s federal human resources system as one of the best in the world. She emphasized the system’s flexibility, dynamism, and development, attributing its success to comprehensive policies, legislation, smart systems, and applications that enhance government efficiency and talent development.

During the visit, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources organized training programmes and workshops for the Uzbek delegation. The sessions included an introduction to the Human Resources Management Information System (HRMIS) called “Bayanati,” as well as discussions on key procedures, laws, and legislation concerning human resources in the UAE government. The workshops aimed to equip the delegation with knowledge and tools to strengthen their contribution to government development efforts in Uzbekistan.

The strategic partnership in government modernisation between the UAE and Uzbekistan, signed in April 2019, has led to innovative projects across 37 areas of cooperation. Initiatives such as government accelerators, the Uzbekistan Government Quality Award, and the One Million Uzbek Coders’ Initiative have played a crucial role in building the capabilities of Uzbek employees through extensive training programmes.

Overall, the recent visit and exchange of knowledge between the UAE and Uzbekistan underscore the commitment of both countries to enhancing government capabilities and modernising human resources systems to meet the challenges of the future. The collaboration between the two nations sets a positive example for government partnerships worldwide.
