UAE Introduces Annual and Golden Residency Options for University Students

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a new initiative to attract and retain students by offering them residency for the purpose of studying in the country. Whether students are sponsored by their parents who are residents in the UAE or by accredited universities or colleges where they study, they can now benefit from this opportunity.

The student visa program allows students to reside and study in the UAE with sponsorship from either one of the accredited universities in the country or from their parents who are officially residing in the UAE. The student affairs offices in universities are dedicated to helping students navigate the visa application process and ensure a smooth transition.

The student visa is initially issued for one year and can be renewed for a similar period upon providing proof of continuous study from a higher education institution in the UAE. Male students can be sponsored by their parents until the age of 25, while female students can continue to be sponsored regardless of age as long as they are enrolled in a higher education institution.

To obtain a student visa, students must submit a certificate from their university or educational institution specifying the duration of study, along with any other specific requirements outlined in the general provisions of the residency visa.

In addition to the student visa program, foreign university students can also bring their families to reside with them in the UAE if they have the financial means to do so and provide suitable accommodation. This initiative aims to provide stability and moral support for students during their time in the country.

Furthermore, outstanding students in the UAE are eligible for a golden residency visa, which is valid for up to 10 years. The golden visa program allows long-term residency for certain categories of foreigners, including top students and graduates, without the need for a sponsor or host. Golden residency holders enjoy exclusive benefits such as multiple-entry visas, residency for 5 or 10 years renewable, and the ability to bring in family members without a maximum limit.

The Golden Residency program was launched by the UAE government to attract and retain top talent in various fields, including science, entrepreneurship, and humanitarian work. This initiative aims to make the UAE a hub for innovation and excellence by providing long-term residency options for individuals who contribute to the country’s growth and development.

Overall, the UAE’s student visa and golden residency programs demonstrate the country’s commitment to supporting education and talent development, while also attracting top students and professionals from around the world. With these initiatives in place, the UAE is poised to become a leading destination for students and professionals seeking long-term residency opportunities.
