UAE maintains strong performance at Gulf Youth Games – News

The UAE continued to dominate the Gulf Youth Games as they secured a clean sweep in golf, with the hosts winning the team gold and Rayan Ahmed claiming the individual title. The UAE’s stellar performance in the inaugural edition of the Gulf Youth Games solidified their dominance as they amassed a total of 274 medals.

The UAE is currently hosting the Gulf Youth Games under the theme “Our Gulf is One… Our Youth is Promising.” On day thirteen of the competition, the UAE athletes had their most successful day yet, bringing home an impressive 43 medals in various sports including archery, golf, karate, swimming, judo, and billiards.

The UAE’s impressive haul of 274 medals included 90 gold, 97 silver, and 87 bronze medals, showcasing their strength across multiple disciplines. Saudi Arabia secured second place with a total of 123 medals, while Kuwait and Qatar followed in third and fourth place respectively.

In golf, the UAE team dominated the competition at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club, with Rayan Ahmed leading the way with a championship total of 214, 2 under par. Mohammed Skaik and Thomas Nesbitt also secured individual medals, with the UAE team claiming the team gold.

The judo competitions concluded at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, with the Saudi Arabian team taking the gold after a strong performance. The UAE team clinched third place with eight medals, including a gold medal in the Under 60 kg competition.

In swimming, the UAE national team secured eight medals, bringing their total to 18 medals and elevating them to fifth place on the list. The UAE’s rising stars also shone in karate, securing a total of 23 medals across individual kata and team kumite competitions.

Overall, the UAE’s dominance in the Gulf Youth Games was evident as they showcased their talent and determination across a wide range of sports. With their impressive performance, the UAE athletes have set a high standard for future editions of the Gulf Youth Games and have solidified their position as a powerhouse in the region.
