Reading Time: 2 minutes

The recent unstable weather conditions in the UAE have prompted many residents to embrace remote work, avoiding the hassles of commuting and ensuring their safety. With road closures and flooded streets becoming a common sight, authorities have recommended both private and government sectors to allow employees to work from home.

One Dubai resident, Nawar Abdoun, shared her experience of receiving a message from her employer advising remote work due to the inclement weather. Setting up a makeshift workstation on her couch, Nawar found herself more focused and productive without the stress of commuting. She expressed her preference for remote work, highlighting how it puts her in a better mood and allows her to complete tasks efficiently.

Similarly, Abu Dhabi resident Khattab Jubara chose to work from home to avoid the long commute to Dubai. Drawing from his freelance experience, Khattab has developed strategies to stay productive while working remotely. By dividing his day into hourly blocks and rewarding himself with breaks, Khattab has found that his home setup is more efficient and comfortable than his office environment.

Sudanese expat Shahd Ahmed, employed in Dubai Design District, also opted to work from home to save time on commuting. Setting up a designated workspace between her bed and sofa, Shahd has found that remote work has not only improved her productivity but also provided a mentally refreshing break from the office routine.

Overall, the shift towards remote work during unstable weather conditions has proven to be a viable and efficient solution for many residents in the UAE. By prioritizing safety and embracing the flexibility of remote work, individuals like Nawar, Khattab, and Shahd have discovered the benefits of working from the comfort of their own homes. As the weather clears and normalcy resumes, the experience of remote work during challenging times serves as a reminder of the importance of adaptability and innovation in the workplace.
