UAE Weather Alert: NCM Warns Motorists of Dense Fog in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain

Motorists in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are being urged to exercise caution as dense fog is expected to reduce visibility on the roads until 9am today. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued red and yellow weather alerts for these areas, warning drivers to be extra vigilant.

Reports of dense fog have already been received from various areas in Abu Dhabi, including Arjan, Al Khatim, and Sweihan. In response to the hazardous conditions, Abu Dhabi Police have posted a safety warning on social media, advising motorists to reduce their speed to 80 kilometres per hour during foggy periods for their own safety and that of others on the road.

The NCM has also forecasted partly cloudy and hazy weather conditions across the country for today. Those with dust allergies are advised to take precautions as light to moderate winds may cause blowing dust and sand in some areas.

Temperature highs are expected to range between 38 to 42°C, with lows averaging between 15 to 19°C. Coastal areas will experience temperatures between 34 to 39°C, while mountainous regions will see temperatures between 27 to 33°C. Humidity levels will be moderate, ranging from 60 to 85% in coastal areas and 55 to 75% in mountainous regions.

Relative humidity is expected to increase by night and Monday morning, particularly in coastal and internal areas. The sea conditions are forecasted to be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.

Motorists are advised to stay updated on weather alerts and road conditions, especially during periods of dense fog. It is crucial to drive with caution, adhere to speed limits, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles to ensure a safe journey.
