The UAE Winter Sports Federation and Ski Dubai Join Forces to Support National Team for 2026 Winter Olympics

In an exciting development for the UAE sports scene, the UAE Winter Sports Federation and Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment’s Ski Dubai have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the UAE National Team in their journey to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina, Italy.

The agreement solidifies the commitment of both organizations to the development of snow sports in the UAE. As the UAE National Team gears up for the prestigious Winter Olympics, Ski Dubai will play a crucial role as a strategic partner, providing resources, training camps, and support to ensure the team is fully prepared for the global event.

The MoU was signed in the presence of key figures in the sports industry, including Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Director-General for the General Authority of Sports, and Ignace Lahoud, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment. Hamel Ahmed Al Qubaisi, Vice President of the UAE Winter Sports Federation, and Mohammad El Etri, Managing Director UAE & Oman & Global Snow Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in the development of snow sports in the UAE, building on the foundation laid by the establishment of Ski Dubai in 2005. The UAE National Olympic and Paralympic Committee, along with the Dubai Sports Council, will also collaborate to enhance other sports sectors in the country.

Hamel Al Qubaisi emphasized the UAE Winter Sports Federation’s dedication to supporting winter sports, particularly skiing, which has already seen success on the international stage with participation in events like the Winter Youth Olympics in South Korea. The partnership with Ski Dubai will further elevate the UAE’s presence in the global sports arena.
