Ugandan female entrepreneurs successfully enter UK and Asian markets

The Breaking Barriers to Trade Entrepreneurs’ conference has been instrumental in helping Ugandan women entrepreneurs expand their businesses and export products to the United Kingdom and Asian markets, according to Baroness Sandy Verma, a member of the British House of Lords.

Speaking ahead of this year’s conference at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Baroness Verma highlighted the positive impact of the conference in boosting women’s confidence in business. She emphasized the importance of creating a network that brings together business leaders and government policymakers to address common challenges faced by entrepreneurs, such as access to finances and scaling up production for exports.

Baroness Verma noted that the conference has provided women with valuable opportunities to create business connections, join supply chains, and learn about self-branding, online trading, and various financing models. She expressed her commitment to advocating for sustainable change in Uganda’s socio-economic landscape and beyond.

Organized by The Global Influence Club, the Breaking Barriers to Trade Entrepreneurs’ conference brings together high-level government representatives, thought leaders, and women entrepreneurs to discuss trade barriers and strategies for overcoming them. The event, opened by Baroness Verma, will feature plenary sessions and workshops focusing on sustainability, work-life balance, well-being, goal setting, and pitching business ideas.

With a strong emphasis on empowering women entrepreneurs and fostering global business connections, the conference aims to drive positive change and economic growth in Uganda and other parts of the world.
