UH Mānoa excels in national graduate program rankings: 2 programs in top 25, 13 in top 100 – Maui Now

The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa has reason to celebrate as two of its graduate programs have been ranked in the nation’s top 25, with an additional 11 programs making it to the top 100 in the 2024 US News and World Report’s Best Graduate Schools rankings.

The William S. Richardson School of Law at UH Mānoa has particularly shone in this year’s rankings, securing the 23rd spot for both best part-time law programs and best environmental law programs. The rankings were based on various criteria such as research activity, placement success, quality assessment, student selectivity, and faculty resources.

UH Mānoa Provost Michael Bruno expressed pride in the university’s recognition in the rankings, emphasizing the commitment to academic and research excellence. He highlighted the university’s role in nurturing the next generation of innovators, educators, and leaders in Hawaiʻi.

In addition to the law school’s success, other programs at UH Mānoa also received accolades. The Thompson School of Social Work & Public Health, the Nancy Atmospera-Walch School of Nursing, the College of Education, the College of Social Sciences, the Shidler College of Business, and the College of Engineering and College of Natural Sciences all received impressive rankings in their respective fields.

While some programs were not ranked this year, UH Mānoa continues to maintain its reputation for excellence in graduate education. The university’s commitment to providing high-quality academic programs and resources for its students is evident in these rankings, solidifying its position as a leading institution in the nation.
