The University of Indianapolis tennis teams are gearing up for postseason play starting with the GLVC Tournament, according to UIndy Athletics. Both the men’s and women’s teams are set to compete in their conference finals the weekend of May 3, with high hopes after successful seasons.

Head Coach and Director of Tennis Malik Tabet expressed excitement about the upcoming tournament, especially given the teams’ past successes. The men’s team, in particular, has had a standout season, with a top ranking in the country and impressive wins under their belt.

Tabet shared that the team tried a new training approach this year, allowing for more recovery time to prevent fatigue and improve performance. This strategy seems to have paid off, with both teams performing well and showing potential for a strong postseason run.

On the women’s side, junior Tyffaine Pais has been a key player, ranking in the top five nationally and contributing significantly to the team’s success. Despite some setbacks in the rankings due to a lack of matches, Pais remains optimistic about the team’s chances in the postseason.

The GLVC Championship will take place in Kansas City, Missouri, at Drury University, providing an exciting opportunity for both teams to showcase their skills and compete at a high level. With a focus on taking it one match at a time and aiming for nationals, the UIndy tennis program is poised for a memorable postseason run. Fans can expect thrilling moments and a strong team spirit as the players strive for success on the court.
