United Airlines is expanding its reach from its Dulles International Airport (IAD) hub near Washington, D.C. with the introduction of new nonstop flights to Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) in California. The airline will operate one daily flight on this new 2,188-mile route starting on December 19, with service running through April 30, 2025.
This new seasonal winter service will mark United’s longest flight to Palm Springs, adding to existing service from five other U.S. cities. The route will be the first-ever nonstop connection between the D.C. metro area and Palm Springs, providing travelers with convenient access to the popular destination.
United’s senior vice president of global network planning and alliances, Patrick Quayle, expressed excitement about the new route, highlighting the airline’s commitment to offering unique and world-class destinations. The new flight schedule will depart Dulles at 9 a.m. EST and arrive in Palm Springs at 11:40 a.m. PST, with a return flight departing at 1 p.m. PST and landing back at Dulles at 8:45 p.m. EST.
The airline will deploy a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft on this route, featuring a new signature interior and a range of seating options including first-class recliners, Economy Plus extra-legroom seats, and standard economy seats. With a monopoly on this new nonstop route, United aims to capture the demand for travel between the East Coast and Palm Springs, offering a convenient and efficient option for travelers.
