The tragic death of actor Matthew Perry has sparked a multi-agency investigation, with the United States Postal Service now joining the efforts to find out who provided the ketamine that led to his passing. According to TMZ, the DEA is collaborating with the USPS to track down any drugs that may have been sent through the mail to Perry.
Law enforcement sources revealed that postal inspectors are using their expertise in tracking packages and other mail-related tools to assist in the probe. This development comes after local police and the DEA had been investigating the circumstances surrounding Perry’s death for months, following a toxicology report that confirmed he died from acute effects of ketamine.
Although Perry had been undergoing ketamine infusion therapy for mental health issues prior to his passing, the medical examiner determined that the ketamine in his system at the time of death was not from the treatment. This raises questions about where he obtained the drug from.
Friends of Perry in Hollywood have spoken out about his positive state of mind before his untimely death, with many believing he was sober and planning to establish a foundation to help others struggling with addiction. Perry was found unresponsive in his hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home in October and was declared dead at the scene. He was laid to rest a week later.
