The Wake Forest men’s tennis team’s incredible season came to an end with a 4-2 loss to Texas in the NCAA Tournament semifinals. The Demon Deacons, seeded No. 6, put up a valiant fight against the No. 2 seed Longhorns but ultimately fell short in Stillwater, Okla.
Despite the loss, Wake Forest had a remarkable season, reaching the Final Four for the third time in program history. The team’s journey to the semifinals included impressive wins over top-ranked opponents, showcasing their talent and determination on the court.
Freshman standout Luca Pow was a standout performer for the Demon Deacons, finishing the season with an impressive 25-2 dual singles record. Pow’s 19-consecutive wins to close out the season were a testament to his skill and resilience.
Head coach Tony Bresky commended Texas for their performance and expressed pride in his team’s efforts throughout the season. Despite the disappointment of the loss, Bresky highlighted the positive aspects of the season and expressed excitement for the future with a returning group of talented players.
