University students in the UAE can now apply for annual and golden residencies.

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has recently announced a new initiative to attract students from around the world by offering them residency for the purpose of studying in the country. Whether the students are sponsored by their parents who are residents in the UAE or by accredited universities or colleges where they study, this new program aims to make it easier for students to pursue their education in the UAE.

One of the key aspects of this initiative is the student visa, which allows students to reside and study in the UAE with sponsorship from either an accredited university or one of their parents who is a resident in the country. The student affairs offices in universities play a crucial role in facilitating the visa procedures and assisting students with the necessary documentation.

The student visa is initially issued for one year and can be renewed for a similar period upon providing proof of continuous study from a higher education institution in the UAE. Male students can be sponsored by their parents until the age of 25, while female students can continue to be sponsored regardless of age as long as they are enrolled in a higher education institution.

To obtain a student visa, students must submit a certificate from their university specifying the duration of study, along with any other specific requirements outlined in the residency visa provisions. Additionally, foreign university students have the option to bring their families to reside with them in the UAE if they have the financial means to do so and can provide suitable accommodation.

In addition to the student visa program, the UAE also offers a Golden Residency visa for student talents. This program allows long-term residency for certain categories of foreigners, including top students and graduates, without the need for a sponsor or host. Golden residency holders enjoy exclusive benefits such as a multiple-entry visa, residency for 5 or 10 years, and the ability to bring in support service workers without any limits.

The Golden Residency program was launched by the UAE government to attract and retain top talent in various fields, including science, entrepreneurship, and academia. By providing long-term residency options, the UAE aims to create a supportive environment for students and professionals to thrive and contribute to the country’s development.

Overall, the UAE’s new initiatives for student residency and the Golden Residency program demonstrate the country’s commitment to attracting and retaining top talent from around the world. With exclusive benefits and opportunities for students and professionals, the UAE is positioning itself as a leading destination for education and innovation.
