Intel has introduced a new software solution called Thunderbolt Share, which allows users to unlock ultra-fast PC-to-PC experiences in a secure manner. This innovative technology enables users to share files, screens, keyboard, mouse, and storage between two PCs at the speed of Thunderbolt technology.

Jason Ziller, Intel’s vice president of the client connectivity division, expressed excitement about the launch of Thunderbolt Share, stating that it will revolutionize the way users interact with multiple PCs. The software solution is designed to enhance productivity and efficiency by enabling seamless access between PCs at Thunderbolt speeds.

Thunderbolt Share utilizes Thunderbolt networking capabilities to provide a simple and efficient way for users to interact with two PCs. It offers responsive screen-sharing and fast file transfers, making workflows more flexible and productive.

The software application will be licensed to OEMs as a value-added feature on new PCs and Thunderbolt accessories. It leverages the high bandwidth and low latency of Thunderbolt technology to deliver smooth uncompressed screen-sharing and ultra-responsive mouse and keyboard control between PCs.

With Thunderbolt Share, users can easily drag and drop files between PCs, synchronize folders, and even migrate data from an old computer to a new one. The software runs on Windows operating system and is compatible with Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5 PCs.

Intel plans to roll out Thunderbolt Share on select PCs and accessories in the second half of 2024. Companies like Lenovo, Acer, MSI, Razer, Kensington, Belkin, Promise, and Plugable are expected to offer Thunderbolt Share on their devices. This technology is set to transform the way users collaborate, share files, and maximize productivity across multiple PCs.
