Unpredictable Weather Patterns and Thunderstorms Forecasted in UAE Until May 4th

The National Center of Meteorology has issued a warning about the current unstable weather conditions in the UAE, with heavy rainfall expected to continue until next Friday. This weather pattern is described as typical for this time of year, but it is different from the exceptional weather experienced earlier in April.

The previous exceptional weather, which brought heavy rainfall over wide areas, was unprecedented in the past 75 years according to the statistics of the National Center of Meteorology. It occurred in three consecutive waves starting from April 14, with the strongest wave hitting on April 16.

Today, heavy rains have already been reported in Dubai in Al Qudra City and Saih Al Salam, with moderate to heavy rains on Emirates Road towards Jebel Ali. Additionally, heavy rains and thunderstorms with hail were reported in Al Shuwaib in Al Ain, while lighter rain fell in Masfoot in Ajman.

The current weather condition is expected to occur in two phases. The first phase, starting today and continuing until Wednesday, will see scattered showers ranging from light to heavy due to local clouds forming in the east and extending to some inland and western areas.

The second phase, starting from Wednesday evening and continuing until Friday, will see the formation of a surface low-pressure system coming from the Red Sea, accompanied by another low-pressure system from the north of the Arabian Peninsula. This will bring moderate to heavy rainfall to western regions of the country, moving towards Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Dhafra, and Al Ain.

The National Center of Meteorology has warned residents to exercise caution during rainfall, follow traffic instructions, and avoid water accumulation in low-lying areas. The weather is expected to gradually improve by Friday and Saturday, with continued chances of light to moderate, possibly heavy, rains in some southern and eastern areas.

Today’s highest temperature was recorded in Al Zamel (Al Ain) at 39.6 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature was in Jebel Jais (Ras Al Khaimah) at 15.5 degrees Celsius. The weather is expected to remain unstable throughout the week, with varying degrees of rainfall and temperatures.
