Salamanca High School’s baseball team had a standout performance in their recent game against Falconer, with senior pitcher Cole Urbanski leading the charge. Urbanski threw a dominant five-inning no-hitter, helping the Warriors secure an 11-0 victory at Denny Meszaros Field.

Despite challenging weather conditions, Urbanski showcased his skills on the mound by striking out five batters, walking one, and hitting two. His efficient pitching, with 43 of his 65 pitches being strikes, earned praise from Salamanca head coach Greg Herrick.

The Warriors’ offense also shined during the game, scoring runs early and often. They batted through the lineup in the first inning, scoring five runs on two hits and three walks. The team continued to add runs in the third and fourth innings, ultimately invoking the 10-run mercy rule.

Coach Herrick commended his team’s performance, noting their improved plate discipline and aggressive approach. With 12 hits and four walks in the game, the Warriors displayed depth and production throughout the lineup.

Urbanski’s stellar pitching performance, combined with the team’s offensive prowess, sets a positive tone for Salamanca as they head into their upcoming series against Fredonia. With a strong pitching staff that includes Urbanski, along with Ross and other key players, the Warriors are poised for success as the season progresses.
