USF graduate student Sean Atkins may not fit the mold of an elite wide receiver at first glance, but his performance on the field speaks volumes. Standing at 5’10,” Atkins shattered USF single-season records last year with 92 receptions, 1,054 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns, despite missing spring practice due to injury.
Head coach Alex Golesh praised Atkins for his work ethic and determination, highlighting him as an example of what happens when you put in the effort. Atkins, who started his career as a walk-on before earning a scholarship in 2021, credits his real-world experience working various jobs, including as a food runner at a popular restaurant, for helping him excel on the football field.
As Atkins gears up for his last spring game in a Bulls uniform, he is focused on building on his success and making the most of the opportunity. He looks forward to the challenge of competing with the best and showcasing his skills on the field.
USF will kick off the annual spring game this Saturday at 2 p.m. at Corbett Stadium, where fans can witness Atkins in action one last time. With his determination, work ethic, and leadership qualities, Atkins is poised to leave a lasting impact on the USF football program.
