Uttar Pradesh Travel Mart 2024 showcases the state’s dedication to rejuvenating its tourism industry

The sixth edition of the Uttar Pradesh Travel Mart (UPTM 2024) was a resounding success, showcasing the state’s tourism potential and commitment to becoming a premier destination for travelers. The event, organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with FICCI, took place from April 25 to 27, 2024, at the Baba Gambheernath Auditorium in Gorakhpur.

The UPTM 2024 brought together over 120 hosted travel agents and tour operators from India and abroad, including representatives from Canada, Latvia, Singapore, and Malaysia. The event featured engaging sessions, exhibitions, and cultural showcases highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s rich heritage and tourism infrastructure.

On the first day, the event kicked off with an inaugural session featuring presentations by key officials from Uttar Pradesh Tourism, detailing the state’s tourism offerings and investment opportunities. The day also included an exhibition where exhibitors presented their diverse offerings to the travel fraternity.

The second day of the event saw Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh, D.S. Mishra, IAS, reflecting on the state’s tourism triumphs and its rapid transformation into the ‘Land of Opportunities.’ The event also highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s focus on promoting spiritual and cultural tourism, with plans to enhance foreign tourist arrivals and host the Maha-Kumbh in 2025.

In his closing remarks, Prateek Hira, Chairman of FICCI’s Tourism Committee, emphasized Uttar Pradesh’s transformation and the government’s efforts to promote the state as a safe and inclusive destination for travelers. The event concluded with familiarization trips for international and Indian travel agents to explore key destinations in Uttar Pradesh, further enhancing their understanding of the state’s tourism offerings.
