You will help build and oversee the delivery of custom web applications.Additional responsibilities may include:
- Apply extensive knowledge of various sciences (e.g., Computer Science, Programming; Appliance Programming Interface (APIs) or web service technologies (e.g., REST APIs, SOAP, and XML)
- Develop Online Web applications for the client using React JS and/or other relevant technologies
- Utilize the client Development Operations (DevOps) systems and tools (Git, Jenkins, etc.) to ensure compliant code and ensure best practices
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to build and deliver custom-built software solutions
- Support a portfolio of applications from a holistic standpoint to understand various complex product requirements, mitigate challenges and integrate software
- Apply results of web usability testing (e.g., usability studies, creation of user profiles or personas, participatory design, surveys, heuristic evaluations, and cognitive walkthroughs) to development of applications and web sites
- Implement features and bug fixes under the direction of a lead engineer
- Actively engage in and begin leading team meetings
- Manage own personal and professional development, seeking opportunities for expansion of skills and expertise
- Share passion for about new web technologies/techniques
- Work closely with both design and quality assurance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in Software Development / Web Application Engineering
- Expertise in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5 and third-party libraries such as React.JS and Angular
- Demonstrated experience creating, editing, organizing, and storing digital file formats (e.g. tiff, gif, png, pdf, jpg, svg, html, css).
- Demonstrated experience designing products for front-end development and web applications (e.g. wireframes, low and high-fidelity mock-ups, or click through prototypes)
- Strong communication and facilitation skills to insure meaningful engagement and partnership with project stakeholders
- Experience with modern design tools like Sketch, Figma, Axure, Principle, Framer, and InVision
- Ability to work on client location in St. Louis, MO
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) security clearance required + active polygraph or ability/ willingness to gain polygraph
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience utilizing a web design software (e.g., Adobe Master Collection CS6/Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, InVision Studio)
- A strong understanding of User Experience Research methodologies to incorporate user insights collected from various Customer Experience (CX) Measurement channels (web analytics, surveys, user testing, focus groups) into enhancements requirements, user stories, and designs
- Knowledge of User Interface Design and Development strategies
- Demonstrated experience implementing industry standards for user experience methodologies, design technical resources, and web best practices
- Demonstrated experience researching and/or implementing 18F US Web Design Standards Framework
- Demonstrated experience researching, or implementing best practices for web accessibility, usability, or technical implementation
- Knowledge of server-side programming languages and frameworks including TypeScript, Node.js, .Net, and Python
- Ability to develop both front-end and back-end (java) is a plus
- Familiarity with DBMS technology, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL
- Agile development on a scrum team experience, using Agile project management tools (JIRA), and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience creating and consuming REST APIs that meet performance and security requirements
