Kevin Costner made headlines at the Cannes Film Festival when he brought five of his seven children to the premiere of his new movie, ‘Horizon: An American Saga.’ The actor revealed his unique family outing during an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’
Costner, 69, shared that he wanted his children to experience the event with him, so he bought them tuxedos and clothes for the occasion. He posed on the red carpet with daughters Annie, Lily, and his youngest children, Cayden, Hayes, and Grace. Despite the picture-perfect family photos, Costner joked that their trip to France didn’t go exactly as planned.
While at the festival, Costner’s two sons went fishing, and his three daughters ended up on a boat, enjoying drinks until late in the evening. Despite the unexpected turn of events, Costner expressed his pride in his son Hayes, who he cast in ‘Horizon.’
Costner shared that he named his son Hayes years before working on the film and knew he wanted him to be a part of it once production began. The actor also reflected on the emotional response he received from the Cannes audience, who gave him a 10-minute standing ovation after the movie premiered.
The first chapter of the ‘Horizon’ saga is set to hit theaters on June 28, with the second chapter following on August 16. Costner’s experience at Cannes was a memorable one, showcasing the bond he shares with his children and the success of his latest project.
