Vandals who twerk cause $25,000 in damage to Southern California business

A San Gabriel Valley business, Pink Sponge Home Cleaning service in Glendora, fell victim to a group of vandals over the weekend, causing $25,000 in damage. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of April 20 when at least three teens broke into the company’s rooftop parking lot. Surveillance footage captured the teens wreaking havoc, with one blasting a fire extinguisher and two others twerking on the hood of one of the company’s 25 bright pink Volkswagen Bugs.

The vandals kicked in headlights, broke windows, carved on car hoods, and caused extensive damage to 18 vehicles in the fleet. The company’s co-founder, Jennifer Ahlgrim, expressed disbelief at the senseless destruction, stating, “I couldn’t understand how someone could do something like this to a company that’s trying to do good. It just doesn’t make sense.”

One of the teens, a 15-year-old from La Verne, has been taken into custody, and authorities are working to locate the two teen girls involved in the break-in. Despite the setback, the Pink Sponge team remains resilient, but the incident has been disheartening for them.

Unfortunately, the company’s insurance claim was denied due to a previous vandalism incident. To support Pink Sponge Home Cleaning with the cost of repairs and the loss of supplies, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up. The community is rallying behind the business to help them recover from this senseless act of vandalism.
