Vicky Kaushal Pays Tribute to Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw on His 110th Birth Anniversary
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 3 (ANI): Actor Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to honor the legendary Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw on his 110th birth anniversary.
Sam Manekshaw, also known as Sam Bahadur, was born on April 3, 1914, in Amritsar. He passed away at the age of 94 due to pneumonia at the Military Hospital in Wellington, Tamil Nadu, on June 27, 2008.
Vicky Kaushal, who portrayed Manekshaw in the biopic ‘Sam Bahadur,’ shared a monochromatic portrait of the war hero on his Instagram stories. Alongside the image, Vicky wrote, “Remembering the legend on his 110th birth anniversary. Sam Bahadur.”
The film ‘Sam Bahadur,’ directed by Meghna Gulzar, delves into the life of India’s first Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw. Known for his pivotal role in leading the Indian Army to victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, Manekshaw was a revered figure in Indian military history.
Vicky Kaushal’s portrayal of the war hero in ‘Sam Bahadur’ marks his second collaboration with Meghna Gulzar after the critically acclaimed ‘Raazi.’ The film also stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles.
Apart from ‘Sam Bahadur,’ Vicky Kaushal is set to appear in the upcoming movie ‘Bad Newz,’ directed by Anand Tiwari and co-starring Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk. The film is scheduled for release in theaters on July 19.
