Video Conferencing Usage Surpasses Pre-Covid Levels, Technology News Reports

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Logitech, the Swiss manufacturer of computer peripherals and software, is eyeing the Indian market for untapped potential. With low PC penetration, low gaming equipment usage, and low video-enabled rooms, the company sees a plethora of opportunities to expand its business in the country. Moninder Jain, vice-president & head of emerging markets, highlights that video conferencing is emerging as one of Logitech’s fastest-growing businesses in India, thanks to the company’s strength in research & development.

In an interview with Sudhir Chowdhary, Jain dismisses the notion that video conferencing was just a temporary trend that boomed during the pandemic. He emphasizes that the growth of video conferencing was already on the rise before the pandemic and has continued to surpass previous levels even this year. Currently, only around 10% of conference rooms in India are video-enabled, indicating a significant market potential for further growth.

Logitech’s business strategy in India focuses on catering to a diverse audience, particularly resonating with the youth and power users in the country. The company sees opportunities in the rising PC penetration and the gaming sector, prompting them to explore specific strategies for the Indian market.

In terms of sustainability, Logitech is committed to minimizing the carbon footprint associated with its products. The company aims to achieve carbon neutrality and has already implemented carbon labeling in 40 to 50% of its products. By transitioning to eco-friendly packaging and reducing plastic usage, Logitech is taking steps towards a more sustainable future for its brand.
