Israeli military strikes in Gaza Strip kill dozens as talks for truce continue

In the ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza, Israeli military strikes have resulted in the deaths of dozens of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Health officials reported that the strikes targeted various areas, including the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis, where two main hospitals were blockaded by Israeli forces.

The strikes also hit areas in the middle and eastern parts of the territory, resulting in casualties. In Bani Suhaila near Khan Younis, nine people were killed in an air strike, while four people lost their lives in Al-Maghazi camp in the central Gaza Strip. Additionally, an air strike in Deir Al-Balah hit several tents inside Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital, killing four people and injuring several others, including journalists.

The situation in Gaza City was equally dire, with Israeli forces operating inside Al Shifa Hospital, according to the territory’s health ministry. Residents in the vicinity reported widespread destruction of residential districts by Israeli forces near the hospital.

The conflict has taken a toll on the civilian population, with many struggling to access basic necessities like food. The United Nations has warned of an imminent famine in Gaza, adding to the urgency of reaching a ceasefire agreement. The ongoing talks in Cairo, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, aim to secure a truce between the warring parties and potentially secure the release of hostages held by Hamas militants.

As the violence continues to escalate, the international community is closely monitoring the situation and calling for an end to the bloodshed in Gaza.
