Violinist Simón Gollo Joins University of North Texas College of Music Faculty, as Reported by The Strad News

The University of North Texas College of Music has welcomed Simón Gollo as the new associate professor of violin. Gollo brings a wealth of experience to the faculty, having previously held tenured positions at New Mexico State University and Furman University from 2015 to 2024.

With an international career that spans chamber music, teaching, solo performances, and conducting, Gollo is a versatile musician. He is also a recording artist with the global label IBS Classical and is represented by HALAC Artists and Meluk Kultur Management along with the Reverón Piano Trio.

During his career, Gollo has been a member of prestigious ensembles such as the Dalí Quartet, La Catrina Quartet, and the Q-Arte Quartet, all specializing in Latin American music. He has participated in numerous tours and performances within and outside of the US with these ensembles.

As an orchestra conductor, Gollo has directed orchestras like the Simón Bolívar Chamber Orchestra and is set to make his debut with the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba. He has also conducted various youth and professional orchestras across North and Latin America.

In addition to his teaching and performing roles, Gollo was appointed as the artistic director and conductor of the Carolina Youth Symphony in January 2023 and has been serving as the artistic director at the New England Music Camp since January 2022.

The University of North Texas College of Music is excited to have Simón Gollo join their esteemed faculty, bringing his expertise and passion for music to the next generation of musicians.
