Virat Kohli Ends Suspense Over Availability for Warm-Up Game vs Bangladesh; Ex-India Skipper Leaves for T20 World Cup

After weeks of speculation, Virat Kohli has finally put an end to the suspense surrounding his availability for the upcoming ICC World T20 2024. The former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper was spotted at the airport as he left for the United States to join Rohit Sharma’s Team India ahead of their warm-up game against Bangladesh.

Kohli’s appearance comes after a stellar run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he led the batting charge for RCB, scoring an impressive 741 runs in 15 games. The 35-year-old claimed the Orange Cap for the second time in his IPL career, with his first win coming in 2016 when he amassed 973 runs.

The T20 World Cup holds special significance for Kohli and Rohit Sharma, as it might be their final chance to end India’s title drought in ICC events before the next World Cup in 2027. With the next T20 World Cup not until 2026, both players will be aiming to leave a mark on the grandest stage with a winner’s medal around their neck in the US and the Caribbean.

Kohli’s late arrival to the Indian camp adds to the anticipation surrounding Team India’s campaign in the T20 World Cup. With the squad gearing up for their only warm-up game against Bangladesh, fans are eager to see Kohli and the rest of the team in action as they aim for glory in the tournament.
