Vladimir Putin’s Alleged Daughters Make Rare Public Appearances at Economic Forum

Vladimir Putin’s two alleged daughters, Maria Vorontsova and Katerina Tikhonova, made rare public appearances this week at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum. The secretive nature of Putin’s family life has kept details about his daughters under wraps, but they have been widely linked to him through various media reports.

Tikhonova, a technology executive with ties to the Russian military, spoke on a panel about the role of the defence sector in boosting Russia’s “technological sovereignty.” Vorontsova, a biology researcher leading a state-backed genetics institute, discussed innovation in biodiversity.

Both women have taken on more public roles in recent years, but public appearances are still uncommon. This marks the first time they have been part of the official program at SPIEF, Russia’s flagship annual business summit.

Putin has occasionally mentioned his “daughters” in public remarks over the years, but has never confirmed their identity or been clearly photographed with them. His ex-wife, Lyudmila, gave birth to Maria and Katerina in the mid-1980s while they were married.

The presence of Putin’s alleged daughters at the economic forum has sparked intrigue and speculation, shedding a rare spotlight on the secretive family life of one of the world’s most powerful leaders.
