World Long Drive (WLD) has made a significant announcement with the appointment of former IMG Golf executive W. David Livingston as the chief commercial officer of the competitive tour for golf’s longest hitters. Livingston brings a wealth of experience in marketing and brand development, having spent 15 years at IMG Golf creating athlete endorsements and title sponsorships.

GF Sports & Entertainment President Shawn Tilger expressed excitement about Livingston joining the World Long Drive team, citing his passion for the sport and expertise in the golf industry. Livingston, who most recently served as vice president of global partnerships for Oak View Group, is eager to contribute to the growth of long drive and continue his involvement in the world of golf.

Livingston, a resident of Atlanta, has a strong background in business development, having worked with organizations such as the Atlanta Legends of the Alliance of American Football and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He began his career in brand management at Procter and Gamble and holds degrees from Cornell University.

The World Long Drive season kicked off in March in Huntington Beach, California, with Kelly Rudney and Justin James emerging as champions in the Women’s Division and Open Division, respectively. The tour’s next event is scheduled for May 17-19 in Memphis, with the season culminating in the World Championship at Bobby Jones Golf Course in Atlanta in August.

As an affiliate of World Long Drive, the European Long Drive Games/WLD Europe is also set to showcase the talents of long drive competitors on an international stage. With Livingston at the helm, the future looks bright for the sport of long drive.
