Wadena-Deer Creek and Seelhammer defeat Sebeka in Area Baseball – Brainerd Dispatch

The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines secured a 6-1 victory over the Sebeka Trojans in a Park Region Conference showdown on Monday, May 20. Grant Seelhammer led the charge for WDC, going 2-3 with two triples, two RBIs, and one run. Simon Kreklau also had a strong performance, going 2-2 with a double, a run, and a walk. Carson Davis contributed a double to the team’s offensive efforts.

On the pitching front, Connor Dutke delivered a solid performance, striking out four batters in six innings to secure the win for WDC. With this victory, Wadena-Deer Creek improved their conference record to 9-5 and their overall record to 9-8. The team is now gearing up for the Section 6-2A playoffs, with the schedule yet to be announced.

In other baseball action, the Crosby-Ironton Rangers defeated the Mille Lacs Raiders 11-4, with Ky Gressman leading the charge with 2-3 at the plate and two RBIs. Ethan Millsop also made an impact, driving in three runs for the Rangers. Keyon Wesner pitched a solid game, allowing just one run in four innings to secure the win for Crosby-Ironton. The team’s overall record now stands at 3-11, with their next game scheduled against Moose Lake-Willow River on Wednesday, May 22.
