This intensive program, funded and supported by OpenAI, aims to assist 128 newsrooms in navigating the challenges posed by AI implementation. Vincent Peyrègne, CEO of WAN-IFRA, emphasized the importance of AI technologies in sustaining news organizations amidst declining revenues and the spread of misinformation. The accelerator program will span three months per team, offering learning modules, workshops, a hackathon, and a showcase to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to integrate AI into their newsrooms effectively.
The program will kick off with an in-person workshop to facilitate collaboration between participants and coaches, setting the stage for AI prototyping projects. Participants will leave the program with a clear roadmap for implementing AI initiatives in their newsrooms.
