Warren Trio Honored for Achievements in News, Sports, and Jobs

Warren High School’s boys basketball team has been on a winning streak, culminating in their first District 10 title since 1983. Now, three of their standout seniors have been recognized for their exceptional performances on the court. Tommy Nyquist, Brady Berdine, and Braylon Barnes have been named Region 6 all-stars by a vote of the region’s coaches.

Nyquist, a four-year starting point guard, averaged 9.4 points and 5.8 assists per game. Berdine, known for his scoring prowess, averaged 17.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals. Both players were named to the all-region first team. Barnes, with an average of 15.1 points and 4.5 rebounds, earned a spot on the Region 6 second team.

Warren’s head coach, Jeff Berdine, expressed his pride in the seniors’ achievements, highlighting Brady’s all-around contributions, Braylon’s improved shooting skills, and Tommy’s defensive prowess. He acknowledged the challenge of replacing these key players but expressed confidence in the team’s returning players.

The Region 6 all-star first team also included players from Franklin, Corry, and Titusville, with Jalen Wood from Franklin being named the region player of the year. The region champion was Franklin, showcasing the competitive talent within the district.

Warren High School’s basketball program continues to make waves in the region, with these three seniors leading the way with their exceptional skills and dedication to the game.
