Warren Athletes Shine at PIAA Class 2A Track and Field Championships

Six Warren athletes showcased their talents at the PIAA Class 2A Track and Field Championships this weekend, competing against the best in the state. Among them, senior Kylie Fehlman threw her season best of 117 feet, 6 inches in javelin, finishing 11th overall.

The Warren girls 4X100 relay team, consisting of Madelyn Nosel, Lindsay Madigan, Lilly Newton, and Laney Gatto, put on a strong performance, finishing 20th in the state with a time of 50.50 seconds. Gatto also competed in pole vault, although she did not place at the event.

In the boys’ division, Warren junior Sam Lindell finished 28th in the 3200 meters event, showcasing his talent and determination on the track.

Warren coach Kevin Dustin praised the athletes for their efforts, stating, “Our girls 4-by-1 team ran a great race… Kylie had a big throw in the javelin… Sam ran a strong race… Laney gave it her all in pole vault.” He commended the team for their excellence and performance against tough competition.

Overall, it was a successful outing for the Warren athletes, who represented their school with pride and determination. The experience gained at the state championships will only fuel their motivation to strive for greater success in the future.
