A water tanker truck caused chaos in Murrysville on Friday when it crashed into a business on Route 22. The driver lost control of the vehicle, smashing it into Bowser Collision. The impact was so severe that half of the tanker ended up inside the building, causing structural damage.
Fortunately, no employees were injured in the incident, and the driver of the tanker appeared to be unharmed but was taken to a local hospital as a precaution. Derek Severns, the manager of Bowser Collision, described the terrifying moment when the crash occurred, with the ceiling collapsing and water spraying everywhere.
Murrysville Fire Chief Pat O’Mahony stated that the tanker only grazed the building’s structural beams, sparing any customer cars from damage. The cause of the driver losing control is still unknown.
Despite the chaos, emergency crews quickly responded to the scene and worked to remove the tanker from the building. Bowser Collision plans to relocate appointments to a nearby dealership while repairs are made to the damaged building. Customers will be notified of any changes in the coming days.
The dramatic crash serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the potential dangers of large vehicles on the highway. The community came together to handle the situation swiftly and efficiently, ensuring the safety of all involved.
