Westfield’s Tanleigh Bestine Achieves 100th Career Hit in Win Over Panama

In a thrilling Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 West softball game, Westfield’s Tanleigh Bestine made history by achieving her 100th career hit. Bestine led off the game with a single to right field, setting the tone for the Wolverines’ dominant 18-3 victory over Panama.

Bestine’s milestone hit was just the beginning of an impressive offensive display by Westfield. The team collected a total of 19 hits, with standout performances from players like Sydney Hotchkiss, Drew Ernewein, Keara Kincaid, Brynn Ernewein, and Eva Gnadzinski. Gnadzinski also shined on the mound, pitching five innings of three-hit ball while striking out two batters.

On the other side, Kaitlyn Horton and Corinne Hovey managed to get hits for the Panthers, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Westfield’s offensive firepower.

In other softball action, Frewsburg dominated Jamestown with a 15-2 victory, thanks in part to a barrage of hit-by-pitches and walks. Paige Whippo and Taytum Jimerson provided the only hits for Frewsburg, while Teagan Nazario delivered a solid pitching performance with a complete-game three-hitter.

Cassadaga Valley secured a hard-fought 12-9 win over Brocton, with Hailey Myers leading the charge with a double and 2 RBIs. Andrea Johnson and Denza Fanara also contributed key hits for Cassadaga Valley, while Johnson’s pitching prowess with 11 strikeouts sealed the victory.

Lastly, Silver Creek shut out Pine Valley 12-0 behind Rylee Weiskerger’s impressive pitching performance. Laneya Olsen and Hailie Rybij delivered clutch hits for Silver Creek, while Jessina Miller recorded the lone hit for Pine Valley.

Overall, it was an action-packed day of softball with standout performances and exciting matchups across the board.
